After lunch yesterday, I found the five volume version of the “Great Book of Needs”. Just a few pages into Volume 1 was the “Rite for receiving into the Orthodox Church those baptized in the Name of the Trinity but having been raised in Heresy” or other words that were very close… The rite was nothing like what Fr Victor did back in 2002 – which was, basically, “Baptism without the water” and then Chrismation. Suddenly it was understandable why everyone was surprised, “He did WHAT????” It also explained the Canon Lawyer’s response, “If that’s what happened, then you are Byzantine.” Closing the book, I looked heavenward and said, “Thank you, Father Victor.”
