The Backstory

There’s a new link in the top navigation called “backstory”. There’s a history and since the website is 25 years old, I thought it might be nice to update with some Throwback Thursdays and some Flashback Fridays. Just one long “hit parade”. Although it all ends before 2010.

The Backstory page is dedicated to Fr Seraphim Rose. He may or may not have been glorified recently by one Bishop in the Orthodox Church. It depends on who you ask and what they think the “real process is”.

He is the first holy person in the Church to have drawn me in. Others have since then. By “drawn in” I mean I felt (and still feel) an intimate connection with this person I’ve never met. I know he is praying for me. He’s “right there” – along side me as I worship – along with St Raphael of Brooklyn and Blessed Stanley Rother. I can’t explain it other than I know. I have good friends and they want me to be much better in the faith than I am. So they pray for me.
