King Cake

It’s sugar flavor. One of my two favorite seasonal things to make, the other being cheese pascha. This is what you can do with two cups of flour, a pound and a half of dairy products, and some mincemeat, plus some food coloring and a heck of a lot of sugar.

The bread or cake content uses Jacques Pepin’s brioche recipe, from Essential Pepin, plus the addition of some orange zest. The interior is my own recipe using cream cheese, full fat Greek yogurt, and, as I mentioned, mincemeat.

Yes the stove is a mess: I’m not a good food blogger. Let the good times roll.
