Long Suffering

I heard an intercession for the “Long Suffering People of Palestine” in Church and I was like… “eh”. I hear from white American Christians that when we are in the Holy Land often it is the Muslims who treat us better than the Israelis. I think there may be a bit of payback there, for we have to accept our very long history of Anti-Jewish Oppression as the People in Power. I’m not surprised there is payback. Arab Christians, too, should expect a brotherly “we’re all arabs together”. But, when it comes to the value of “freedom of religion” I don’t want to be a Christian in an Arab state. I’ll visit Israel, thank you. And the Gay Palestinians I know want to be in Israel – not a Muslim state. No state is perfect, but – during my adult life – Israel often looks more like the Western Democracy I’d like to live in than the one we have… Although Bibi seems to have a lot more in common with the Orange Man than Barak Obama or Jimmy Carter.

That said, here’s an interesting video. I loved this YouTuber when he was being a tour guide. Now he’s a teacher.
